ANZEN : HARDWARE THAT TURNS BAD POWER INTO GOOD POWER

Most UPS devices are bought with some big catastrophe in mind such as a lightning-induced power surge or total blackout. It might surprise you to know that 50% to 80% of all power problems are generated right within your own building. Risk factors include the presence of other power hungry equipment such as elevators, air conditioners, and copy machines, the proximity of your office to industrial plants, the age of the wiring in your building, and the distance from your office to the nearest power plant.

Anzen's EM/RFI common-mode and normal noise filtering prevents power line noise from causing data errors and computer lockups without the expense of additional power conditioners. And Anzen's automatic voltage regulation is also intelligent enough to reduce ("buck") your voltage spikes and "boost" your voltage sags (brownouts) without taxing the UPS battery. This reduces battery discharge cycles, preserving the battery's runtime for when it's really needed.

And when you do need to replace a battery, Anzen's "hot-swappable" batteries mean you never have to power down the UPS.

Anzen's surge suppression capabilities are the best in the business, with a three-phase protection architecture that can absorb 2070 total joules of surging power (more than four times as much as the leading UPSs). And Anzen's metal case significantly reduces surge-induced fore danger. Of course, network and phone/fax line surge suppression also come as standard features on every Anzen UPS. Each Anzen UPS comes with a suite of impressive self-diagnostic tools to ensure readiness at all times. Bar-graph meters, light indicators, and audible alarms eliminate the guesswork by providing real-time monitoring of AC power and UPS functions, including load size, battery charge, line voltage, and fault conditions (such as weak batteries or UPS overload). And automatic self-tests alert you to potential problems before they occur.

The Anzen family of line-interactive UPSs is designed to take whatever your power source dishes out and turn it into clean, consistent energy for your sensitive electronic equipment. Today's electronic equipment has been designed within very specific specifications for power to be delivered in a pure, consistent sine wave.

Anzen's comprehensive power protection provides only pure sine wave output with a total harmonic distortion (THD) of less than 3%. Most UPSs produce a "quasi-sine wave" or step waveform by spiking the power, the very thing you are trying to protect your equipment from.

Anzen's pure sine wave output ensures that your sensitive equipment is never over-stressed, overheated, or power starved - each of which can lead to hardware failure and data loss.

Whether you're backing up your desktop, workstation, internet server, or mission critical application server, there is an Anzen model to meet your needs. The I-500 is ideal for protecting any desktop or small server while the I-1500 can protect multiple servers and their associated networking components such as routers, hubs, and disc arrays.

In a recent head-to-head lab competition between 10 of the leading 420 to 500 VA UPSs conducted by Computer Reseller News magazine, the IPT Anzen I-500 was the only product to score a perfect 5-star technical rating.

In their conclusion, the editors of CRN had this to say about the IPT Anzen I-500:

"Technically [IPT's] I-500 stood head and shoulders above this UPS crowd. It exhibited nearly ideal voltage regulation, with an almost flat curve hovering around the recommended 120-volt level. It had an informative display, the best battery life and excellent software. Other highlights included programmable outlets that support user-defined shut-down sequences and a voltage waveform [sine wave] that mimics the power utility."
