![]() The reliable power generator |
On-Site Miniature Power GeneratorSince “dirty power” causes half of all computer problems (Source: LAN Times, Business Systems magazine and others), a clean, consistent power source is critical to your business. To ensure quality power, it would be ideal to have your very own on-site power-generating station that was not susceptible to utility line disturbances. The Large Scale On-line (LSO) is exactly that--an on-site, miniature power generator with exceptional power quality. The LSO takes the inconsistent and sub-par power of the utility line and regenerates it into the clean, reliable power required by sensitive electronic equipment. In fact, LSO power is so clean that it virtually eliminates all the downtime and data loss associated with power problems. Reliable power for 100% uptime With on-line power regeneration, “no break” continuous operation, and extended battery runtimes, the LSO essentially operates as a highly reliable, on-site power generator. No matter what happens to the power line, the LSO continues to generate the quality power demanded by minicomputers, multiple servers or telecom equipment. Long battery runtime Compared to similar-sized UPSs, the base LSO system typically offers 50% to 150% longer battery backup times at full load. This ensures ample time to save open files, close applications and safely shut down systems. Extended batteries Many mission-critical applications require 100% uptime. For those applications, additional batteries may be added to obtain hours of backup time. Continuous no-break power With the continuous no-break power of the LSO, you never need to worry about system reboots or data loss when the power fails. Fault-tolerant reliability If a fault or overload occurs, the LSO continues to power your equipment without interruption by auto- matically switching to a redundant “bypass” power path. Hot-swappable batteries UPS batteries can be hot-swapped without powering down your equipment by switching to bypass mode. UPS/battery casters for easy installation Both the UPS and battery pack come with lockable casters for easy installation and maintenance. Quality power for safe operation As the circuits inside microprocessor chips get smaller and denser, they become even more sensitive to power fluctuations and line noise. Likewise, faster microprocessor clock speeds increase the probability of data errors due to power disturbances. For such reasons, today’s sensitive electronics require even cleaner, more consistent power for reliable operation. Unmatched voltage regulation A Bell Labs power study indicates that 87% of all power disturbances are voltage sags or brownouts. Without using battery power, LSO voltage regulation steps brownout voltages up and overvoltages down to within ±1% of nominal output voltage (2 to 5 times better regulation than the competition). This ensures safe voltage levels for equipment operation, conserves the battery for blackouts, and extends battery life by reducing discharge cycles. True sine wave output (<3% THD) With true sine wave output of less than 3% total harmonic distortion (THD), there is no chance of data errors, hardware overheating, equipment wear or other problems that may be caused from noise (harmonics) generated by a UPS with greater harmonic distortion. Frequency regulation for generator use The LSO regenerates on-site generator power with wide frequency variations (up to ±10% with optional model) into highly stable power with ±0.5% stability, exceeding the frequency stability requirements of electronic equipment.
